Eastview's  run comes to a halt. Read the article posted in today's Daily Breeze.

Not Since 1989 has Eastview Little League had a Major All-Star team Advance into the  Southern California Tournament. Right now the 11-12 All-Star team  is riding a 2 game win streak in the So. The EVAS have advanced through winners bracket with 1 game to go before the championship game for the So. Cal Title. Tonight the EVAS will play  Conejo Valley (Dist 13) at Plaza LL in Long Beach at 7:00 pm. For directions click above link. If anyone has digital pictures from all of the tournaments for both the 11's & 12's please email them to me chrisg@eastviewll.com .

Box retailers eye DiCarlo land! The Daily Breeze has another article regarding the DiCarlo Bakery land and Eastview Little League. Click here to read the article.

With all the rumors circulating about the closing of DiCarlo Bakery. I thought it best that we let our League members know what the current events are. Here is an article from the Daily Breeze. We do know that The City council is doing its best along with Mayor Hahn's office to keep Eastview Little League a part of the San Pedro community. It may take a few years for a complete purchase and issued permits to take place. The thrift shop and sales department will be staying on at the San Pedro bakery for at least the remainder of 2004. What will the future hold for Eastview Little League? We'll keep you posted here. Help support your Little League, GET INVOLVED!

HELMETS! An every day piece of equipment of Little League Baseball and Softball. This year there are some new rules that will effect the helmets are kids wear for practice and league play. There will be some questions of bats used by our children as the come up to bat for there team. Some pointers for parents; Before purchasing personal playing equipment for your player, please be aware of the following changes that go into effect with the 2004 season. Helmets - It has become common for players to purchase individual batting helmets and to have these helmets personalized with paint, decals, stickers, etc. Starting in 2004, helmets can only be modified with paint, decals, tape (stickers), etc, if you have specific approval for these modifications from the helmet manufacturer in writing. Note the rule says the manufacturer, not the person that painted the helmet or applied the decoration. If you do not have the approval in writing from the manufacturer, the helmet cannot be used in either Little League games or practices.

Bats - Only baseball bats may be used in baseball games and only softball bats may be used in softball games. In prior seasons, if a bat met the size restrictions in the Little League rules, it did not matter if it was designed for baseball or softball, it could be used in either sport. With the evolution of more specialized bats, the difference in performance between softball and baseball bats have become quite different. If you will be purchasing bats for your player, be sure the bat is specific to their sport.
